What is a Higher Code?

A Higher Code is a monthly essay series for entrepreneurs, technologists, and leaders exploring the convergence of technology, theology, and American dynamism.

Rooted in classical wisdom and historical lessons, this email newsletter examines how timeless religious and philosophical frameworks can guide innovation—particularly in the transformative age of AI.

About the Author

I am a recent Stanford grad who studied Industrial Engineering and Computer Science, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence. At Stanford, I won the Hoefer Prize for writing the best senior project in my department, published articles for the Stanford Review, and tackled anything that moved as a forward for the rugby team.

I’ve lead projects and products across a variety of startups across stages (pre-seed, Series B, unicorn, public), sectors (AI, staffing, B2B SaaS, EdTech, Climate), and roles (strategy, go-to-market, and product). Before college, I preached the gospel in Sao Paulo, Brazil and built a school in Peru. I also earned a congressional nomination to and acceptance by the U.S. Naval Academy, but after a brief stint in NROTC, I decided to focus on technology instead of a military career.

I’m also married to the talented and hilarious Hope Knudson, an art director and professional wedding photographer.
